Two weeks after scoring a podium at the Monaco ePrix, and after his first victory at Long Beach, driver Nelson Piquet Jr. took the overall lead of the FIA Formula E Championship after a hard-fought fourth place finish at the Berlin ePrix. The Brazilian driver was focused on limiting damage after qualifying down in 13th position and by the end of the race reached the fifth position.
Before the Berlin ePrix, the TAG Heuer pilot of the China Racing Team was just four points behind Lucas di Grassi. Due to technical infringements on his ABT, Di Grassi was disqualified from the race, promoting Nelson Piquet Jr. to the fourth place of the race and leader of the championship with 103 points: "Regardless of what happened to di Grassi after the race, who worked really hard and fought all the way to the front from 13th on the grid. The final result obviously helps us in the championship but we were already very competitive and it hasn't happened by accident that we are leading the championship. I am really prouf of the team, we never give up and in Moscow we're going to be even stronger" said Nelson Piquet Jr. Sebastien Buemi is now second with 101 points and di Grassi third with 93 points.
Next stop: Moscow on June 6th!
